Our team is passionate about supporting you.

The team at SW O&G aims to deliver high quality, friendly and professional care to the women and families in the South West. We have a team approach and all members of our team work together to contribute to patient care – doctors, midwives, and administration staff.

Our Doctors

South West Obstetrics & Gynaecology (SW O&G) was established in 1984 by Dr Tom Cottee, the first specialist obstetrician gynaecologist to live in Bunbury. The practice now includes three specialist obstetrician gynaecologists, three practice nurses/midwives, a visiting continence nurse, our practice manager Frances Calabrese and our team of wonderful admin staff.

SW O&G maintains strong associations within the local and surrounding medical communities. It is this dedication and commitment to the community that has helped SW O&G earn and maintain its outstanding reputation for over 30 years.

Registered Nurse / Midwives  Carryn, Kirsten (RN) & Sarah

All of our midwives are also registered nurses and have extensive clinical experience. You will meet them on your pregnancy journey, or they may assist with your office procedure or call to discuss your results. They are always available via phone and are happy to answer any questions, no matter how curly.

Administration Team

Our admin team comprises our highly experienced and very helpful receptionists, theatre-coordinators and clerical staff.  They will be your first point of contact when making enquires about our practice and your care.

Registrars (specialty trainees in O&G)

After completing initial medical training, junior doctors commence training in their chosen specialty and are known as registrars. They are a key part of the clinical team. Specialty training in O&G takes at least six years to complete, and they compete nationally for a training place and undergo a rigorous selection process. Although they are fully qualified in the general care of patients, they will refer to a more senior doctor for advice and assistance in the more complicated areas of O&G. Our practice is proud to provide teaching opportunities for doctors during their specialist training.

When being cared for as a public patient in hospital, our specialist registrars will provide your treatment with support from our consultants. This model delivers the highest quality of care whilst training the next generation of specialists.
